ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION SYSTEMS
In our country, spiral or flat PVC pipes are commonly used for cable pulling during electrical installations. Especially in industrial facilities, water pipes are generally used as metal installation pipes by replacing them.
Nowadays, flat metal pipes used internally and externally in electrical installations in social and industrial facilities, business centers, workshops, skyscrapers, subway stations, ships are divided into two groups as threaded and toothless types.
While toothless pipes are mainly made of galvanized steel; They are made of threaded pipes, aluminum or steel. The most commonly used steel pipes in the world are EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) type pipes.
WHAT IS EMT?
EMT installation systems are manufactured according to American UL 797 and ANSI C80.3 standards and are recognized by NEC (National Electric Code). EMT is not only pipes, but also muffs, fittings, junction boxes, channels, fixing hooks, clamps, elbows, bushings, adapters, entules and bending apparatus, etc. It is a complete electrical installation system consisting of accessories. The application of EMT installation materials is a more practical, easy and at the same time safer method of application compared to other piping systems.
WHAT IS EMT PIPE?
EMT pipes are galvanized steel pipes without teeth used in electrical installations. They are used for safe and easy pulling of cables during electrical installation. They are suitable for use in indoor and outdoor environments.
It is difficult to provide strong protection because the environments where the cables are placed are often poor. Thanks to the galvanized coating process, it is a good solution for corrosion protection. Calcification, rusting, etc. that occur over time in the electrical installation with EMT pipes. It provides strong protection against electrical, chemical or mechanical abrasion. With this feature, EMT pipe provides the protection of cables and wires for a long time.
In EMT piping, pipe connections are made with the help of screw or compression fittings and muffs without the need for threading. With this feature, EMT pipes eliminate the need for threading, which is encountered in threaded pipes, which requires both special equipment and increases the labor cost in the field. EMT Piping is an alternative, durable solution to plastic-based pipes, especially in surface mounted installations.
